Lost 3G ability

Today I de-branded and updated the firmware to Version 30, and have since lost my 3G connection and am stuck with the really slow antenna like symbol in the top corner.

Anyone know what I have done :(

check in tools > settings > phone > network > network mode

it should be set to 'dual mode'

would also be useful to tell us what phone you have (n95 or n95 8GB)

the debrand shouldnt break the ability to use 3g. If your sim is able and you are in a 3g area, you should get 3g automatically anyway.

Do you see the 3g symbol at all - even when not browsing/whatever or is it always the 2g antenna symbol whatever you are doing ?

Also are you positive that you have 3g where you currently are ?

Earlier today I was using the 3G signal on googlemaps then decided to unbrand and update and since no matter what I do (web browse, google maps etc) Its in 2G.

Is there a way I can get o2 to send me service commands or something to get it to work?

Maybe a re-boot will give it a kick up the arse.

when you turn the n95 on and its sat at the standby screen doing nothing when its not trying to make a data connection, does the meter display the antenna or '3g' ?? I wonder cos your packet data settings might be messed up somewhere

Maybe the 3G signal is down/crap in your area at the moment, this sometimes happens to me too, and maybe thats the case.
