N95 C drive filling up

I don't tend to install applications on the main phone memory (which I think is the C drive) on my N95. However I do have a few things on there. At one point last week I was trying to open some apps and I was getting a message that there wasn't enough memory. So I looked into it and it was showing that out of 147mb on the C drive there was under a MB free. Well I did some digging around on the phone and found a 9mb video file that came with the phone on there so I deleted that to free up space. So at that point I had 9+ mb free on the C drive. I didn't install any new apps since then but now it's showing that there is only about 6mb free. WTF? What is eating up all of my drive space? Log files or anything like that? I've done a number of searches to see if there were any threads that mention what I can delete off of the C drive but I haven't come across any. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be going on or what I can delete? At this rate I'll probably run out of memory again in the near future.

Install Y-Browser and that can show you all the files, hidden an non hidden on your phones C Drive you can remove.

Log files are only small amounts. Have you received any large files over Bluetooth? To loose that much memory, it has to be programs, or media stored on there I think. Logs, Themes, SMS & Contacts are only small files.

Be gentle with what you delete though, and don't remove anything your un sure of. If in doubt, ask a question here mate.

Well I'm using Y-Browser to look at what is out there but like you said I'm using caution. That's why I figured I'd post the question here. I did a search for anything over 1mb but there isn't much out there.

Ok, if you're unable to find whats taking up the memory. Back up your data on PC Suite, and perform a Hard Reset ( *#7370# ) This will WIPE your phone's memory. So you'll have to install any applications you had and use your back up to re install Contacts, SMS and any other personal settings.

That will set your internal memory back to the full, and you can install what you need from there.

Which group does it say in the memory scan option thats using all the memory?
main menu, options, memory details, phone memory.. it will then give you a bit of a break down and should help you find out whats using the memory

Here's what it shows for the Phone Memory

142MB - Memory in use
5892kb - Free Memory
66kb - Calendar
44kb - Contacts
148kb - Messages
112kb - Images
0b - Sound files
0b - Video clips
3233kb - Documents
1716kb - MIDP apps

I did find a text/log file in the ZoneTag application that is about 3MB so I'm assuming that's what the large(ish) number is in the Documents

Very strange indeed. As hidden media which is a normal cause of taking up lots of memory is normally guilty and showns in the details.

Everything else looks normal, you don't really have anything over 1MB of user files.

There HAS to be some files(s) hidden on the drive somewhere.

What applications do you have installed on the phone ?

You'll be better just backing up, formatting the drive and going from there.

If I back it up (which I have been doing periodic backups) and do a hard reset what will I have to do to get the phone back to "normal"? Just reinstall the apps and then do a restore of the backed up info? Will that restore my contacts/calendar/messages...?
