N95 classic and V30 FW, gallery issues.

FW30 running fine here, disabled ASR as Rotateme is still better for me.

Anyway, the only issue I have is that Gallery is showing all files again, including any and all FLV files it can find, even though it shows no thumbnail and will not play them. A couple of these are from apps, but almost all of them are from Mobitubia.

I have tried the old trick of hiding the folders, no help, then I tried hiding the actual files, still no joy. I rebooted phone but they still show.

Please assist if you can, because my Gallery will fill up with junk very fast if I cannot fix this.

Already thought of that, but then Mobitubia cannot find them.

Incidentally, hiding image files seems to work fine. I have also flashed a mates N95, and it has this behavious too.

Can someone recommend an alternative client for Youtube, other than the actual Youtube client itself? I think this may be the easiest fix.

I used to use Emtube, fantastic for a while but then it started misbehaving. I will definitely be interested when/if a new version surfaces.

Hey Lordy,

It's actually pretty simple if you have X-plore and a task manager such as Jbak Taskman or EQ alt-Tab. Lets go.

1. First, you have to make sure you've killed the Gallery app. you can't just close it by pressing the right soft key because it has some kind of "server" or "daemon" running in the background (suppose to make the gallery start faster) that can track your flv files.

2. After you've killed the Gallery process, in your task manager. You can try moving the flv files or hiding them using X-plore.

3. NOTE: DO NOT open your gallery again and restart your phone right after you've hidden the files.

4. Open your gallery after your phone has booted and voila, nice, clean gallery.

Hope that helps.

Oh and for flv viewing i highly recommend MobiTubia, it's a great piece of software with nice, smooth graphics in the application interface

Thanks Leong, but you are just suggesting what I have already tried my friend.

I cannot move the flv files because Mobitubia can't find them. I have already tried hiding.

Thanks for the suggestions though my friend.

TBH I might just get rid of my youtube player. It is just as easy for me to convert the files to mp4 on my laptop first LOL

:edit: strangely I can quite easily hide images with no issues, but the flv files are just being very naughty LOL

Hmm.. what version are you using?

I can hide the flv files just fine and yet Mobitubia can still find them.

Mobitubia finds them when they are hidden no problem, but the gallery still shows them.

I meant Mobitubua cannot find them if you move them to another directory.

Mate you might want to try this, it's gonna sound quite similar to what i've said before, but follow it exactly with caution and tell me if it works... sorry if it's redundant.

1. First, you have to make sure you've killed the Gallery app. you can't just close it by pressing the right soft key because it has some kind of "server" or "daemon" running in the background (suppose to make the gallery start faster) that can track your flv files.

2. After you've killed the Gallery process, in your task manager. You can try moving the flv files to ANOTHER folder and hiding them using X-plore. ALSO make sure you DELETE the PalTbN gallery folders in there is any..

3. NOTE: DO NOT open your gallery again and restart your phone right after you've hidden the files.

4. Open your gallery after your phone has booted and check if the flv files are still there.

5. If the flv files are not in the gallery, the method works. No move your flv files back into their original MobiTubia folder in and make sure they remain hidden.

This is exactly what i do.. Sorry i should have been a little more specific last time.

Try it and let me know.
