What does a hard reset do?

I am interested in doing a hard reset on my phone, basically to rid it of games I previously installed, which now won't be deleted. However, I was wondering if this would also delete applications that came with the phone, such as Nokia Snakes etc? (I would like to keep these whilst getting rid of the other stuff)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

A hardreset will reset your phone to the point it was when you got it.
In some cases when you buy your handset, you have preinstalled progs and games, and often they disapear to in a hardreset.
Compair it with what happends when you format a systemharddrive in your computer.
Sorry about my english.. im from sweden.

A soft reset just reboots the phone, it wont delete or uninstall anything.

Go into the Tools -> ApplicationManager and uninstall the games from there.

I can't remove them from there either. Any other ideas? What files would I have to manually delete from my pc?

If you Format the phone (*#7370#) it will wipe all the games you have installed and anything installed by your operator that is not part of the Operator's Firmware. It will also wipe all your messages, contacts etc - anything not on your memory card. Apps installed from the memory card may reinstall afterwards.

Snakes is part of Nokia's firmware and will not be deleted.

If you Factory Reset the phone (*#7780#) you lose all your settings but no apps or data.

How did you hardreset? And are we talking about the same program? I'm talking about the 'Snakes' game that I don't think you can download but comes with the phone. It was certainly there once I'd done a firmware upgrade and that does a Factory Format that wipes everything not on the firmware or Mem card.

I have just discovered that these annoying fragments are actually hiding on my memory card, not in the phone memory. Problem sorted.
