Dear N95.8GB™ Users. Please help me out. (new to N95-2)

* posted this on symbian freak too...but I think you guys are better off asking*

Finally after my fiasco with the N85(as the picture suggests), I finally returned to Symbian in 3 Years with a N95-8GB

The thing is though...everything is perfect, wifi, bluetooth, Speakers are ***AWESOME-O*** compared to N85.....

But I the the guy i bought it off *i think* has changed the fascia of it. Not the actual body but just the keypad and the screen fascia because I think the white font wording N95 8GB & NOKIA seems to be raised ever so little. *N95 USERS especially Vodafone Users PLEASE RESPOND!

This is because the on the Zero button on the number pad the blue "i" icon is gone...just the 0 and underscore.
I don't know...does Vodafone not have this?

Anyway if it is(hope not) I'd like to get a new housing...Really really really really really want a WHITE HOUSING > (I know it can't be genuine, but one that will work flawlessly, perfect fit etc.)

And was wondering if anyone knows a good place to buy a quality housing (People who've HAD THE EXPERIENCE).

If that just isn't possible...e.g white one doesn't fit properly etc. I'd like a Black Genuine Housing. (Like them as cheap if possible but genuine and perfect-fit)

THANK YOU for your advice & comments in advance:_)

oh and also I'm obviously on Vodafone's ultra ownage firmware v20.0.016!!!!

Is it that much of a difference to upgrade it to v31?

1. In terms of battery life
I know my mobile is 2nd hand but the battery doesn't last a day really...not full 24 hours. as when I wake up the phone is dead. lol

2. My handset keeps freezing e.g when updating and searching other music files when in music player, it says updating...but left it for like 5 mins. doesn't work and when i force quit it the mobile RUNS SO SLOW LOL

do these points get fixed?

oh and one last thing, do genuine oem housing on the front have white font wording "N95 8GB" & "NOKIA" raised? or embedded in. Because on mine seems to be raised ever so little. (can catch it when i scrape it with my nail)
thanks

Did you reset to factory defaults when you got it (*#7370#). This wipes everything except the 8GB mass mem, which you should format first. You will lose the Spiderman movie if you had that.

Do you live in an area of poor reception? This can drain the battery much quicker.

Press and hold the menu key to make sure nothing is running in the background that you don't know about. GPS especially will drain your battery quickly - my TomTom GPS receiver only lasts for 3 hours on batteries.

If you use it a lot to browse the internet/watch movies/listen to music, that will drain the battery quickly also.

If you want a proper quality nokia housing then there is only the oem route when my girls had 95s i had various coloured housings for them pink, white, green and yellow all were crap with a capital "C" plus you dont want an undesirable opening up your phone etc ,whilst the housings on my girls phones were getting changed the ear piece went out on one and on the other the voluume button got snapped of and superglued on its only cause i tested them both before leaving the store that i was able to sort it,another lesson learned dont use dodgy market traders to sort your phone.

Since the above ive always gone to my local nokia care centre abit dearer yes but piece of mind as you know that the blokes fixing it are upto the job plus you get the genuine parts.

Tom Moran on here is a nokia approved engineer and his shop does refurbs with genuine nokia parts send it to him you will be helping him out and this site out through payback because TOM has done lots for others on here.

I know were any of my familly and friends phones will be going if i have any problems as im a great believer in helping out those that help others abit of extra cash for the postage 2 and from for me is better because i know that useing someone that is competent in his work offers me piece of mind.

no, the feature is there on my mobile, but was wondering to those who've bought it off vodafone whether you have the blue "i" icon printed onto the zero key or not.
But thanks to those above who confirmed.

Looks like it hasn't been modded :D
