Yeah it was about an hour for me too.

Love this phone. Nokia e61 was easier to type on, but you can't beat the features of n95.

Bear in mind phone bateries are no longer like the ones of old. Once the phone says its charged, its charged.

No more of that charging overnight for a new battery business.

I agree with Bartmanekul, when it's charged--that's it,you shouldn't leave it connected to the charger longer than necessary. My first charge took as long as all the others, about an hour and half.

It shouldn't really need charging before you use it.

Li-ion batteries are best stored with around 60% charge, so usually that's how they arrive, and so are ready to go out of the box.

Sorry to post in this old topic in my first post but I would like to contribute with something.

That's a complete myth that comes from the age of NI-MH batteries.
LI-ION batteries don't require that kind of first charge time. In fact they don't have any kind of memory effect. It's worse to charge it for 6hours then remove it at 100% charge.

Though there's one thing that degrades a LI-ION battery a lot. leaving it charging when it reaches 100% charge. I mean, if you leave a LI-ION battery charging overnight it will degrade MUCH more faster then if you remove it every time at 100% charged.
That's because it will always keep charging. If it's plunged and charged at 100% it will stop, then it consumes energy and then at about 95% energy it will start recharging again. This process degrades a battery a LOT.

The temperature is also very important. If you charge and store a battery at 20ºC it will last about 50% more time then if it was charged at 50ºC and stored at that temperature. This is also applied when working.
Also if a battery is stored below 0ºC it will damage it a lot and probably it will not even work or the battery charge will drop about 80%.

good point there,errr...you.

When my boss came from the store with his new N95 8GB,and told me that the clerk told him not to use the phone until it has been left charging overnight, I had to take some Valium, because that level of stupidity gets me into cardiac arrest.
