launcher not working...............

on the n95 8 gb or n95-1 when you press the key under the right soft key, you get a launcher. on n95-1 and n95 8 gb its like a carousel launcher. on my 8gb today, i press the button, screan goes bank for 3 seconds jut showing my theme backround, then goes back to whatever menu i was in, without launching the launcher... i rebooted the phone it still has this problem. i had the same issue on my n95-1 when i still had it, i fixed it by reinstalling the firmware. i really dont want to do that this time. is there an easier fix?
