Recovery of Backup information.

My Nokia N95 was recently left in a taxi and I am lost without it I am hopeful that I may still recover it, so have replaced it temporarily with a cheap and basic Nokia until I either get mine back or until I replace it with another N95/N96 or similar. My question is this. I had recently done a backup of all the information in my N95. I had some important phone numbers and contacts in it which I would love to recover. Is there a way to recover this information without having another phone to recover it to? My basic Nokia doesnt have the feature to be able to recover.

Any help appreciated.

Also, for reference, OVI Contacts, this allows you to back up all your contacts to the cloud, which you can restore to any compatible device.

im not sure about nokias, but i know that there was a program for blackberry's that allowed you to view the backup files on your computer.

This may not seem helpful but im juts trying to show that there are people who design stuff like this...

I appreciate the replies and OVI (http://www.ovi.com/services/contacts) looks great, I wish I had known about it when I still had my N95. However, from what I can see it is of no use to me now as I dont have my N95 to back up to OVI. SpOOk's suggestion is good, but it doesnt help me. Thanks also meme405.

Meme405... I did wonder! ;)

Swanee... Can you explain why the program I linked to doesn't help? I understood you to say that you had backed-up your N95... Did you mean that you backed it up to the card in the missing N95, or to your pc?

If the back-up is to your PC, then I thought that the software was designed to recover it to a pc in a decipherable format... I'm curious as I've never used this program.

I had backed up my phone to Nokia PC Suite, but that doesnt seem to allow you to recover the information without having a phone connected to it. When I try to recover, it tells me that I dont have a Nokia N95 connected to the computer.
So thats my question, is it possible to recover from Nokia PC Suite without having an N95 to recover it to?
I have looked at OVI and while it seems to be excellent for backing up your phone if you have one, as I dont have one at the moment, it doesnt assist me.

BTW, as I am now looking for a new Phone, what are your thoughts on the later N96, the N97 or the N86.

Swanee... Forget PC-Suite, do a Search on your pc for a '.nbu' file, install the trial version of 'Noki' and point it at the .nbu file... It works fine without running PC-Suite or needing a phone connected.
