Found something new with the phone yesterday...

When you press the menu button, the icons are laid out in the same configuation as the numpad.

If you press the matching key, it selects that menu item.

Manual ? I thought those books were in there to keep the shape of the box !

Most customers I speak to are not even aware the manual exists

why is that common sense? common sense is not walking through a closed door. surely using the d-pad is common sense?

    More little Gems here

There's plenty more little gems in this thread from page 3 in the lounge of about the 25th 06.09

The "I've had my N95 for 6 months, and just learned that...." thread.

    Enjoy.

Well..that IS what its there for.

and I was talking about matching the keypad to the layout of the menu. Even on older phones like 3310 the numbers were assigned to different things on the menu

    Gordon Bennett!

I can't believe the amount of kick-back on this thread! A guy makes a post on something that he has found out thinking others may be interested, and what happens. A few grumpy gits get all high and miighty about how they already knew about it and how obvious it is.
Well, you grumpy gits should wind your necks in and think on how visitors would view this thread!
Were you born knowing everything or did you learn some of it from others?

When I joined this forum only 18 months ago, it was a helpful & friendly place. My, how it's changing!

My sentiments entirely Geoffers. Couldn't have put it better myself.

There seems to be a race on with some posters as to who can post the most mundane posts just to get there post count up. They know who they are.

Sad really, lets just hope that it's a summer thing,

hehe! Maybe we should open a "Grumpy Old Men's" section?

I too was amazed at the number of users who didn't already know this, I'd assumed, mistakenly it seems, that it was common knowledge... Much like if, on a 2-way slider, if you slide it down you find 4 more buttons at the top!

Sarcasm aside, I guess it's only natural that if you find something new to you, you want to share it, it seems that in this case the OP educated quite a few others, surprisingly!

Reminds me, I really MUST read the manual one day!
Some members, after receiving valuable help, aren't clicking on the 'THANKS' button, please remember to do so, it would be much appreciated!

You gotta remember that the N95 is the ONLY Nokia smartphone being pushed by o2 now.
So, there will be plenty of new users for a little while yet.
