Playing avi on n95

Just want to know if i can transfer an avi file as is directly to my phone and get a player that will play it without having to recode it again on my computer to another format like 3gp etc...?

just as your computer needs to download codecs in order to play avis can the n95 do the same or must it be converted to 3gp?

i tried transferring an avi directly to my n95 with the divx installed but when i go to open the file it says file type unknow or unsupported?

many thanks!

I also use winavi to convert... but I play them thought the builtin player. Works a lot better for me. Should be VGA through the TV out too- if that's something you're interested in.

Browse to DivX Mobile - Display Size

You'll need to sign up at stage6.com first, then you can download a divx player for S60v3.
