Does anyone know release date of firmware v12 for Vodafone N95?
Hi all!
Got a bit of a problem. I recently updated my Nokia 95 to v12. I did the usual and changed my product code and then switched it back once i'd finished. Since then i have had a problem with the screen to the point were i had to take it to a Nokia Repair Centre. Now heres the problem. They know im using v12 on the phone and they also know that v12 isn't avalible yet on the so called branded N95. This has resulted in them not being able to repair it as they said 'it has unsuitable software on it'. I spoke to the guy in the shop and he said they would repair it once v12 was out for my Vodafone N95. After this i thought it might have water damage (which it did) so i took it took another repair guy. They said they could fix it so i thought ok and left it with them. Two days later i get a call saying they fixed the water damage but the screen was at fault and it was now gonna cost me £80. I said i didnt want the repair to go any further as it was to expensive. I basically wanted the phone fixed for no more than £25. So my question is when will v12 be out for Vodafone? I keep checking everyday on the Nokia site entering my original product code but it keeps saying the usual v11 and i know v12 has been out a good month now. Sorry for the long story. Hope someone can help. Thanks Mike |

They fixed the water damage?? What did they do and for how much? And now they say that to replace the screen will be £80? Hmmm...
If it's JUST the screen that's at fault (and there's no damage to the associated circuitry), then you can replace it yourself fairly easily for approx £40, see here

To be honest i know Nokia WILL fix it for free so why should i pay anything. The 3rd party company fixed the 'water damage' for £25 but because it was still broke and i didnt wanna pay £80 i just collected it back off them and paid nothing.
Thats why my main question is, when will v12 for Vodafone branded phones be released for the N95? |

Try another NSC. I assume that was a CPW?
I KNOW Nokia are doing their best to avoid paying repairers for fixes, and even rewarding them for turning away clear warranty violations - such as debranding. I've heard a LOT of UK debranders being turned away or having to pay for repairs. I'd love to get my hands on that memo and post on the net as proof/a warning to those considering debranding their handset! |
