Newbie with memory card question

hello people I just got a new 2 gig memory card today and when I look at the memory I notice the capacity is 1937 with 1184 kb in use, as im new to the phone is this right? what app would be using the memory? I have not saved anything yet.

when you format the card on the phone it will place certain folders in certain places, this would obviously take up a little bit of space...

Switch the phone off an on, if it still says the same then continue anyway.

But 1MB used of 2GB shouldn't be worrying yo too much.

hi just noticed that when I record video it says I have 59m 59 sec record time on all of the recording settings,even if I record for a few mins and check time again it still says 59m 59s time left?

I believe that the maximum single-event recording length is 1 hour, no matter how much space in excess of that is available.

After a continuous hour of videoing, you'd be holding a pretty warm phone!

that is most likely just a limit per video...

so until you fall below the required space to store 59 mins 59 then it will keep saying that each new video you record

I got the 4Gb SDHC card! I love it.

Btw I copy every file (including the hidden file across) to the new card. And they work well. Proper way is to back it up and restore i think.
