Newbie - Just got my N95...some advice Please :)

Hiya All!

Just got my upgrade from my trusty N70 after an 18month contract...and got to say that the N70 lasted a lot longer than any of my past (SPV) phones did!

I have been looking forward to getting the N95 for months, and not even tempted by any of the other new phones as they still dont compare with this beauty! Even the Blueberry/blackberry phones look crap in comparisen!

Anyway, soz to babble....

My first problem was Wifi and it not connecting to my Belkin Access Point using a 64bit or 128bit security Key, but DID work with using no key...which was not an option. I, in the end resorted to using my BT Home Hub which worked fine with the 64bit key....confusing??! when using the Access Point and i tried to connect with using a key, the access point crashed too getting a no gateway or invalid key on the phone???! I didnt want to use the Home hub as it was crap with Torrents.

Second Prob - Can you re-assign the keys on the front part of the phone like you can on the N70?! I hate it going online everytime i accidently press the O2 Key :( (yes, im on O2 haha)?

Third - PC suite seems to crash more, and i cant get the PC to see my folders on my N95 using the Applications icon on PC suite??? I can browse the phone though...but dunno where to put the application downloads? anywhere?

Fourth - PC suite crashed when hitting the update button...but since my phone came with V11 i suppose i wont need it for a while??

Fifth - I want that Whistle/Taxi sound off my N70, can i transfer it?

Hmm.. as I'm no expert on WiFi, all I come up with is to ask if you have Mac address filtering enabled on the Belkin? See here for how to obtain the Mac address of the N95, along with a lot of other useful tips. In fact the entire thread, staring here may prove to be of interest to you...

Read this regarding PC-Suite... As for where to put app downloads... I made a folder on my memory card for 'PROGS' and put all app .sis(x) files in there, so that should I need to re-install after running *#7370# (return to factory state) on the phone, they are ready to use. Incidentally, I find it best to install ALL programs to the phone itself, you won't run out of space in a hurry! ;)

If the sound is an MP3 or if you can convert it to one, yes you can transfer it, as the N95 can use any MP3 as a ringtone.

No doubt someone else on here will answer the questions I've left out and enlarge on/correct my other answers! ;)
