Question on VOIP by fldude99

Hi
I followed the instructions by fldude99 in the N95 tips to the letter but when trying to use I get "no connection networks".
I tried 2 different wlans both of which I can do a regular internet connection on.
Any help would be most appriciated.
TIA
Lars

Although I know of others who connected fine by following those instructions, they didn't work for me... I tried three wireless routers, a Belkin and two different D-Link types, none would handle it.

I 'solved' my VOIP connection problem by installing Truphone and using that instead and I'm very impressed with it! If you register before the end of this month, you get free calls to landlines until 2008 and also to some mobiles. Calling from one Truphone-equipped mobile to another is always free and without a time-limit and they state that it will always remain so.

Installing it and getting it set up and running is a breeze, it does all the hard work for you for the price of a chargeable SMS at about 12p if I remember correctly.

For free landline calling, there's a fair use limit of an hour a day or a total of 30 hours a month, which for no outlay is reasonable. You may have heard horror stories of Truphone playing havoc with the N95 and being a real pain to use and even to uninstall... I had the same experience a few months back but with this new version, it's as different again... It runs beautifully in the N95 and the call quality is excellent, it's saved me a bomb on short local calls so far and I can highly recommend it!

Give it a try instead of VIOPCheap, it's a worthy substitute... Incidentally I contacted Truphone to query what their charges in 2008 were likely to be and was told that they would be competitive with other VOIP services...
