Question N95 - Poor Reception!

I have noticed that I am getting more dropped calls and also missed calls as they are going straight to message minder due to the phone being out or range since I changed from my 6230i to the N95!

Is this a common problem or am I imagining it? The Vodafone network is fairly good around here.

Yep i noticed this aswell.. I'm in kilkenny, doesnt happen too much but at times i have no signal and then about 10 seconds later it goes to full.. even though i dont move my position! or when i request my call credit details (*174#) it drops signal and then goes back full.

Are you using UMTS(3G) or GSM? 3G signal is not as readily availible as GSM

Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Phone -> Network -> Network Mode -> GSM

(Or setting to dual mode will allowautomatic switching between the two, but can incur problems if picking up a 3G reception in a low 3G signal area)

You may have hit the nail on the head - I have it set tp dual mode!

This could be explained by the low signal 3G reception being dropped and a GSM reception being established (Often a high signal in most areas)
