Pictures and videos deleted from memory card

Hi All,

I incounted a problem with my n95 yesterday and would like advice on how to stop it in the future.

Hope you can follow this and give me some tips.

Ran handy taskman and saw I had 20mb of internal memory left. I have only installed games and some apps on my phone totalling 20mb and didn't know where the rest of the memory has gone.

Thought 1 - maybe the lifeblog was holding it all with mesages and mms pics. So I deleted stuff in the lifeblog and stopped it from saving again.

Didn't help

Thought 2 - Maybe I had saved a video to the phones memory instead of my memory card.

Checked but didn't find anything

Thought 3 - Deleted all my mms and text messages.

Didn't help either.

Whislt doing all this I checked my messages again (after deletion) and saw that videos I had been bluetoothed and saved THEN deleted from my memory card were still listed.

Deleted these and whey hey my internal memory was back at 96ish mb.

I have now realised that all my videos and pictures (not bluetoothed) taken and stored on my card have been deleted :-(

2 questions then.

1- How do you stop bluetoothed videos being saved to the phones memory as well as the memory card.
2- Which of the thoughts above actually deleted my pictures and videos?

firmware 12.0.013 running.

Thanks for reading and I hope you can help :-)

1. When you receive an item via Bluetooth, it is treated as a text message (And automatically taken into the phone memory)

When you open the received file, it asks where you would like to save it - Make your choice and save the file

THEN return to your 'Inbox' and you will see the message labelled as an item received via Bluetooth - Delete THIS

2. Deleting items from lifeblog = Deleting items from phone completely

1- Is this standard on nokia phones? I've never had a nokia before and never incounted this problem.

2- I understand this but deletion without a warning, hopefully this wont happen to me again.

Thanks for the reply Gizmoratty.

With S60 devices, I believe so, yes - But this is a much better option than the data being stored in a cache like S40's used to do if I remember correctly

And no, it really doesn't give the best warnings - I only found out this info from testing it after seeing this thread
