Memory card and the phone

Hey guys,

Just wondering but does the unavailability of a working memory card reduce the speed etc in the phone??

ever since my card went to hell, my phone has slowed down helluva lot, even after a hard reset ><

and also, just an observation, but hard reset doesn't remove the new fw does it? because when i did it, i was still with the new fw

I don't think it should as the phone has its own memory so as long as you haven't used all that up it shouldn't slow down. as for the hard reset i don't know but can you reinstall the latest firmware just in case? ( i don't know if its possible to reinstall firmware as i've not had to do it).

No, hard-resetting the phone (*#7370#) doesn't have any effect on the firmware.

I don't see why the lack of a memory card should slow the phone down, assuming that you don't have anything running in the background that is trying to use it.

to be honest i'm really not sure, coz when i tried reformatting the card it kept going on about programs using it, but when i open taskman, there's nothing except the format app and the standby, so any ideas what might be using it??

i thought of log or contacts..but they're closed whenever i try formatting..and the slowing down of the phone happened after the card died on me, so i'm really confused lol

which firmware version are you on? 20.0.015?
