New firmware codes in newer models

Hi, I bought my n95 8gb 28th dec and I only still can run an old firmware 10.0.021 without updates avalible.

When I checked my phone I noticed it was running firmware code "0558086" and I cant find any information about it execpt that a protugise site lists it as swedish.

My question is if I can flash the phone to the "old" scandinavium code "0550372 " and still use it as i want to and maybe find a new firmware for it?

You can change to that code with Nemesis service suite but it will void your warranty.

It should be behind the battery in the battery compartment of your handset.

Or do you mean that you can't find a generic code?

I have the same product code and it doesn't offer me any firmware updates either. Has anyone of you already found out anything related to this? I wouldn't like to change the code as it voids the warranty, but I really would like to get the newer firmware to this.

Changing the product code does not void your warranty. Changing the firmware is what may affect it. You can change your product code to experiment which code will work for you before going through with the update and still have the ability to change back to your old code afterwards. There are lots of guides to find the right product codes that you need

You mean that I can change the code to one that does have newer firmwares available and then after installing it, change the code back? Does that work, or do it mess the phone up?

Yes you can do that.

The code that your phone has may be operator specific which is why you cant find it listed anywhere.

I guess it shouldn't be any operator specific as I did buy it from an independent seller, but who knows.

But anyway, thanks for the answer and I guess I'll change the code for the installation then and then back.
