I know this sound stupid, but can anyone tell me how to lower the volume of sound during games?

Press the volume keys on the side of your phone or view the options on the game itself, it should give you a sound menu.

most games should have a volume setting and I've tried changing the volume using the keys on some games with no luck but that doesn't mean it won't work for all games.

Decrease your ringing tone volume.

some games won't allow you to change the volume while you're playing so you have to set your ringtone volume before you play.

adjusting ringtone doesn't help. but blocking speakers with two fingers help a bit...

If you plug in headphones, it's like an "insta-mute" too... I've had to do that on some games until I was able to find the volume control in the game. Kinda sucks when you fire up a game during a meeting and the sound kicks on really loudly, though ;-)

The only way to change the level of sound from a game is the in-game setting.

This is obvious as many games will still play sound even if the phone is in silent mode.
