problem: cannot send texts, but can recieve

please help. I just got the phone and got almost everything working the way i want. The 1 problem i am having is sending texts. I receive the without a problem but every time i send a text it keeps saying "failed". please help, thanks in advance

not to state the obvious, but have you paid your bill? sometimes when they suspend your account they allow you to receive bu tnot send.

failing that, take out the battery, sim card and pull it all back in again and switch on. that might help?

Try going to.. MENU>TOOLS>SETTINGS>PHONE>NETWORK>NETWORK MODE and make sure it is set to either GSM or BOTH

you can always call your service provider and ask for help. they might have a busy network in your area. try using your previous phone so send a message if it works.

Along the lines of what Dayene is saying.....Call your service provider and get them to send the message settings to you via sms if they can do that for you. They can in OZ.
Also, you could try running the settings wizard on your phone.

i would strongly suggest that you check the message service center number....it is highly proabable that the number is not right..

EXACTLY! thats what sounds like needs to be done. Which is what the settings sms is that comes from your carrier. If they have that service for you.
If not they will just tell you the number over the phone and how to get to where you put it in your phone.
