Hello All
Im sure you have seen, purred over and probably brought one of these little machines! Im hoping to get one, as well as keep my n95 for another year instead of upgrading (becuase there is nothing better to upgrade to really) and was wondering if anyone is using one of these machines with their N95, Is the address book and calender including in that good for syncing with the n95, or would you recomend other software is it good to sync with thunderbird and any other directions to useful linux N95 software, general feelings, thoughts and musing on the EEE Pc with a N95 would be appreciated. Thanks |

I have an EEE which I use with my N95. I took the default Linux off it as I couldn't get it to connect to the internet over BT.
I tried Ubuntu and it worked brilliantly with Compiz enabled but again it was a pain with BT. I am now on an Nlited version of XP with PC suite and Thunderbird but they don't play well so I'm going to put Outlook on it. Browsing on my EEE via HSDPA on the N95 is great. |

I like the look of the 4Gb EEE PC's but am slightly wary of a PC with less storage than my phone :)
How big is your stripped down XP install? I need XP for PowerPoint & the like. How easy are the apps to use with the low screen resolution? |

Aswell as the 4gb they have a SD Card slot so you could get a 8gb Sd Card

I have a stripped down xp pro on my eee, its 200 mb. i actually found this thread lookin for somethin i can do with my n95 and my eee.i put works on it but its over a gig so i put open office on which is just as good but only 300 mb. i got a 16 gig class 6 sd in it so u dont have any problems with low amounts of memory, i mean what you gonna use it for, not for keepin your movie collection on init, there is also no problem with resolution, from your distance away and the size of the screen it looks no worse than my desktop monitor.best thing i ever bought i would recomend one to everyone.

I just bought the 900 (9" screen, 20 GB storage, Linux) which has no BT built in. However, there are many USB BT dongles which are (apparently) supported with the standard Xandros OS...They are listed in the EeeUser Wiki here: (Un)supported Hardware [EeeUser Eee PC Wiki] Among those supported is the tiny Cirago BTA-3210 which is now on my wish list. Disclosure: I have not tried tethering the 900 myself yet since my N95 has not yet been delivered and I don't have the BT dongle. When I do, I will report back on this forum. |
