Default Whats the difference between RM models?

My navigator is RM 122, and there are others, I think a RM 146 or something.

What does it mean exactly, and more importantly, can I use a product code for my phone thats on a different RM?

Nope- as you can imagine, myself and MANY others have tried (yes, mostly N95-3 users! :P). The RM code cannot be changed via NSS or any other method that I am aware of. Each variant of N95 has it's own RM number- I don't think changing a product code will have much effect as Nokia Software Updater looks at both codes before allowing a FW update.

Assuming that's what you mean, changing the product ID in effort to update firmware...?

Yep, thats what I meant. Its annoying as I cant find any more product codes for my phone, at all. Let alone any that give me the new firmware. Ho hum, have to wait I suppose.

Its very annoying, as apperently it contains the inbuilt route66 updates to routing. Which I cant get any other way.

Sigh.

I contacted nokia support about when or even if theres going to be a firmware update for my product code (bear in mind many navigators have 4.21 already, Im stuck on 3.51), and got back useless responses.

First I got a very stock reply, saying that I should take my N95 to a nokia service center and see if theres any updates.

Then had an identical reply, except N95 was switched for 6110.

Totally not what I asked, and completely useless. Bit dissapointed really, Id like to think nokia were above the careless big company cut n paste a useless responses.

Whats the chance of a nokia service center giving me the latest firmware even if its not available for my product code?

Hmmmm... not very good, I wouldn't think. I know that NSCs are NOT allowed to change product codes, and I believe even the Phoenix software that they use does a product code check.

Oh well, I'll give the one near me a call at some point I suppose. Would be easier if nokia just released the firmware though.
