Default found phone

My wife recently brought home a phone that was left where she works. It was held for 3 months for someone to claim but no one came back and ask for it so she brought it home. The phone is a Nokia model 6103b, and after charging the battery I tried to turn it on but the screen would not come on even though the keypad lit up and it would make a sound when the green key was pushed. I'd like to know if it is locked or just FUBAR. I tried several different codes to see if it would unlock, but nothing worked. I'd just like to know if there is some way to get the phone to come on otherwise I'll just throw it away. Anyone have any suggestions?
