If you use the plug in head set, the chord from it acts as an antenna.

oh if that's the case then it must be that 1 pin at the bottom is the antenna right? any ideas on which one? or how can i find out? i think the best way is to get a cheap hands free system, cut the cable and solder an antenna to it? (so that it plugs in the bottom of my phone..)

I'm not positive about an antenna itself being there, ive just read in a couple of Nokia manuals that the headset acts as one.
If you take the back casing off your phone and see something that looks like dull tin foil around the top of the back of the phone, that is the actual antenna.

but if the wire acts like an antenna it must be connected to the phone somehow, so if it does there must be an antenna pin. otherwise i would just put any wire next to my phone and it would act like an antenna, you know what i mean? but yea i guess i'll just experiment with the pins on the bottom and see what i can discover..

oh nice here's what i found on google: Nokia Pop-port pinout and signals @ pinouts.ru see Pin 14: ... "Pins 10-14 may be used for antenna connection." so that's what i needed to know. i'll probably somehow attach a wire to one of those pins and it should help boost up my reception. thanks for replying man

Good work finding all that stuff.
Afraid your link seems to be dead. Sounds very interesting too.
