The application itself is unremoveable, but you can erase the actual map data from the memory card using Nokia Map Loader

Unless you manually upgraded the program, nokia maps is installed on the phone memory, not on your memory card. So even if you could remove the ~100 kb taken up by the app, it wouldn't help with freeing up memory on your card.
Dunno how big your card is, but if you want to free up space on it, look into removing old videos and podcasts, saved maps, 5 MP images, etc. 5MP pictures especially are huge space hogs. Apps for the most part won't take up a lot of space (< 1 MB on average).

sure does. some cool features:
it goes from day and night mode automatically
connects to your contact list to look for addresses
you can choose certain regions and not have to install the whole country maps
gets weather and traffic of the area you are in
neat feature is if you get a txt msg theres an icon in the main menu so you dont have to click out of the program to check
and the best part is it connects to satellites in less than 10secs for me unlike route66 or nokia maps which can take up to 5mins for me.

I have POI red light cameras for the US if you want it. Not sure how update it is. I'm trying to put together my own red light cameras for Houston area, with alert.

You can get it at Garmin's website
You can use Exel or notepad to make your own. Save a .csv file
Like for Houston, I just use Google Map and it gave me all locations of redlight cameras, copy and paste into notepad edit and save as .csv. Use Garmin POI loader, it will automatically convert and load to device. Can also put in image and sound. Image of redlight show up at define point, when you get near there's an alert sound to let you know.
