Maps

i had this issue, basically I had to clear all my maps off and start again with the maps updater, never found out what happened to cause it. Although for me I suspect it was linked to the firmaware upgrade from 11 - 20.

yeah i sorted it out i think i just needed to restart my phone
works fine now, except takes a long time to locate my position sometimes a bit strange.
But how do i go about getting the voice guidance thing permanently? Is this the only thing that i have to pay for? After my 3 day trial? Network usage is set to never as well

You can buy a licence for year for just over $100. That is the only thing you need to pay for after the trial.
Having 'network usage' often helps to get a faster GPS lock, and it only uses about 7kb each time, so bugger all really.

100 bucks gees thats steep, so the navigator phone can use these all for free? Or does it get the data rates as well?
Is there some free software out there at all? Like fully free?

i don't think there's a free navigator. i'm waiting for tomtom to release one that uses the internal gps... if i have to pay something i want it with a one time payment not a subscription.

Called optus they have no idea about gprs or anything. They said its 1.5cents per KB and that the 3 day trial is that i get to use it and all downloads are for free? WTF this is the most confusing thing ive ever experienced no one knows what is going on and no can tell me if it costs to use it and or how much. They said there is no subscription and that the 3 day trail is only free downloads.
