How to keep screen from turning whilst using GPS? - N95 8GB

Hi, first post!

Just got my new N95 8GB (USA), and am thinking about using it as a GPS on my motorcycle. Is there a way to keep the screen from turning off? I already have a cradle on order with a built in power plug, so I'm not worried about battery consumption while in this mode.

Thanks for the help (great forum, btw).

Welcome.!

You should be able to change the settings in "Display" Menu>Tools>Settings>Display

There you have light timer etc

Thanks for the reply.

All I see there, are "Powersaver time-out" with a max of 90 seconds, and also "Light time-out" with a max of 60 seconds. Seems either one (both, really) foil my plans.

Automatic backlight for S60 3rd Edition | Simply Symbian

You can download an application that will keep the backlight on always. There are plenty about and some are freeware but I can't seem to find one at the moment.
