I couldn't get it working with my legit copy either.
However, I did get the hooky version working so I can confirm it DOES work. I don't know where I stand legally though - I have a bought and paid for version of the application, so if I choose to use a different version I'm okay, right? |

it does work i installed it this morning.
Technically, using modified code that bypasses copy protection (as this does)is illegal - it does not matter that you dont want that part of it and only want the gps patch, but if you have a legitimate copy of the application im positive they would not chase you too hard. |

I still cant get it to work, but nevermind.
Ironically, Tomtoms best way of dealing with it now would be to release a new version. |

i dont think we will see a version of tomtom 7 for symbian if im honest. They seem to be steering heavily towards their standalone units.

Yeah definitely works. I tried it this morning. However I uninstalled it moments after. Its great that it finally works, but its a bit too much of a chore for me. Every time you want to use TomTom, you have to first load another application, then load TomTom, then configure the GPS device - everytime.
And another thing, the maps are two years out of date, and TT6 is ooooolddd. Think I'll stick with the retail McGuider from Sygic. Works like a charm for me depsite the few minor irritations. |

mcguider is pap for me until they sort out the postcode problems. Their search function when using postcodes doesnt work with numeric keypads (confirmed by sygic), and as a result, whole counties are missing (such as SN and HR). They have promised a fix within 2 weeks but i dont think its arrived yet

Yeah, same for me. However once thats fixed, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend it.
However, I'll be sticking with Garmin for the forseeable furture. Since Garmin is the only one with location/favourite sending to other garmin users, its the only one for me. Ive already got some of my family using Garmin on phones (6110s, N95s etc), so most of us can just send a text from Garmin and the other can see exactly where they are, or exactly where they want them to be. Im so suprised nokia maps didnt impliment this, and copilot. Even if this tomtom hack did work, like Logan said, its waay too much of a faff doing that each time. |
