Never seen this before, it could be a problem with the maps which have been loaded onto your phone. Try turning A-GPS on, failing that, try re-installing maps and the map data.

Actually, if AGPS is on, turn it off.

Many moons ago I read about it actually putting the location wrong.

It might have even been spook, but I cant remember.

My GPS only seems to work 'immediately' with A-GPS. Once it has signal I normally turn it off on long trips. If I don't turn the A-GPS on to start with I normally don't get a full connection for about 2 or 3 miles.

I wouldn't just blame the Nokia GPS system for this, I used a BlueTooth GPS receiver the other day, and it had me heading north at 130mph (I was sat in the office)

I think they (all) struggle when the signal isn't that great. How does it perform when you're in a nice open area?

You can uninstall the Nokia Maps application from Apps Manager and then download and install from here: Nokia Europe - Nokia Maps - Download

After that you must launch the Maps application once so that it creates the correct file structure in your mass memory then download the Map Loader from the same page as above and then the maps you require.

Make sure you've got the latest maps installed as well, if all else fails try formatting your memory card and downloading again
