V30 and MAPS 2

Hiya all,

I tried searching, but I couldnt find anything relating to this...

recently had my N95-1 unlocked, and they really helpful store put V12 software on, so I lost my V21 software. No probs there as V30 is out!

but. before unlocking, the handset worked with MAPS, which is handy as Ive just moved to Brisbane, and I dont know my way round. Now though, MAPS just sits there waiting for satelites.... getting absolutely nothing.

tried reloading the map data, no effect. left it outside with a good view of the sky for 20 mins, nothing.

help? anyone?

Well, its the GPS Antenna thats dead. swapped the part with a kind fiend that doesnt use GPS and now works a treat.

However, popped into the Brisbane Service centre for a new part. No. they dont sell parts, you have to get the phone repaired. and they cant give me a quote without submitting the phone for repair. Which im not gonna do... why pay $100 odd dollars for labour when all I need is the part?!?!?!

SO, now I just need an old N95 with working GPS that I can cannabalise... :)

Not sure if this is allowed, but, give these guys a try. They are in Australia (Sydney I think) and sell lots of new N95 stuff (e.g. LCDs for AU$80). Could be worth the effort.
