Garmin 4.x and Garmin 5.x at same time?

Hi guys!!

I'm using in my 95-4 the 4.0.20 version of xt mobile, and I tried the 5.0.00 and had a lot of bugs o lag in the navigation!.
Now with the 5.0.20 upgrade I want to give a another chance to it, but if i upgrade my 4.x i will lose all my data if need to downgrade (aka remove folder and reinstall 4.x).

There is any chance to have 2 versions of Xt mobile in the phone and launch 4 or 5 when i want it?

Thanx for your help and sorry my English ... es veeeeeeery bad!

bro.. u can back up your data.

go to tools->manage my data->'left soft key' (Manage)->Export GPX

theprogram will then export all your data to a file called current.gpx in x:\garmin\gpx

copy out that file before you upgrade/downgrade.

after your done, copythe file back, and import it back.

You probably could, but would cause some conflict no doubt.

Backing up is the best way to go, and do a fresh install.

No, i didn't install the 5.0.20 version yet.
I read in some forums that 5 version has bugs handling big POIs files ... so I will wait after my hollidays and then backup and install ...

I will update this post then ... thanx anyway!

No matter which version of Garmin navigation you use you will get a lag that seems quite bad. This is due to the slower than normal refresh rate of all garmin on road software.
All there units from the nuvi, the xt and even the zumo bike range incur a slight delay which has been known to cause problems whilst driving. I don't believe it is something that garmin will be fixing any time soon.
