sports tracker

I have just tried sports tracker for the first time. I must be doing something wrong, because the result was nothing. I can get a GPS fix in a matter of seconds. Do I have to run GPS in the background, or as I thought, just start sports tracker? Does the slide have to be open like in maps, or can you leave it closed? have gone to the site but there is no manual. Does anyone know where I can download a manual?

I've been using sports tracker for some time without any problems....I think it's pretty straightforward...you can use it without any manuals and there are a lot of websites/blogs on this application. Once you do get a GPS fix, you can start the Sports Tracker application. You need to select your workout/activity then press start...you'll see a stopwatch, distance, speed, etc. as you move along...however, you won't be able to see your path/position against any map. After your activity, you can transport your data (in .kml) onto google earth and you can view the route taken.

John. Make sure the GPS bar turn green before you run. What I will do is to have the Sport Tracker turned on. Warm up and look at it and make sure the GPS signal is green, then start.

You can run sportstracker with the slide closed, no problem. I run with slider closed, in my trouser pocket, and signal is still ok :)

Of course you don't need to open your slider now that you have A-GPS enabled....

Nokia N82 - Orange - Firmware V20.0.062 Product Code 0566152
I'm too having a problem with Nokia Sportstracker. So far I’ve found 3 other people having the same problem. The application starts ok, and timer is running, speed is accurate, distance looks good. Then the speed just freezes, the distance stops counting up, but the timer continues. This is happening every time I use it. It works fine for a minute or two, sometimes less, and then it just stops. GPS is fine as when it is in this state I can open up other apps that use GPS and they work fine. The only way I can get it to work for long periods of time, is if testing in the car and it is plugged into the cigarette lighter. This made me think it could be due to low battery, but even on a full charge it only works for a minute or two, when not plugged in, even tried it with phone in offline mode. Anyone else seeing this or have a fix for it?

Thanks for that, the reason I posted it on the N95 forum, was because one of the other people I know having this issue is on a N95. Anyway thanks for the info I will post on the N82 one too.
