Does the Latest Maps Software show Airport locations ?
Hi,
I bought N95 recently and am very happy with the GPS feature on this phone. It could locate a satellite very easily. (It took a little extra time (bout 5 mins) to lock onto a particular satellite when you do it for the first time.) I am in USA, NJ and I have been trying to locate near by locations by category. I could find, Ferries, Railway stations. But when I click on Airport , it says no result found. I searched for posts on this website and I found a link which tells me how to connect to the laptop and download the latest maps software. I did that. 1) I downloaded the software from the following link http://mobilesearch.nokia.com/A4160036?maps 2) Transferred the file onto my N95 3) Installed it using the N95's installer, on the phone as well as on the micro sd card. (Surprisingly, my installation took only 2-3 mins as opposed to 2 -4 hours as posted on one of the forums here which makes me wonder whether my maps aoftware is really getting updated or its using some old version) 4) And tried to search airports . But it still says no routes found. The version that I got from the above link was I think 3.0 Is this the latest version ? Has anyone had similar problem ? When i search other routes, its working fine. Please let me know if theres something that can be done !! Thanks!! |

Judging by your 2-3 minutes install time, it sounds like you only installed the new Maps app.
You should update your Maploader and then use it to a) delete existing maps from device, then b) download and install the new maps for your region. By memory the U.S. maps are big so it possibly will take 2-3 HOURS for this. Just a suggestion, but to me thats what it sounds like has happened. |

Thank you Mcbain
I dont know how to update the maploader application. When I start the maps application, it connects to wifi, but it does not ask to update the application. Would you or anyone on the forum be able to tell me the steps to update the maploader software. Thanks!! |

Do you download your maps straight to the phone with wifi? cos that would cost a bit. Or do you use a PC?
If you use a PC the latest version of MapLoader is v1.2.1 and you can download it from Nokia Europe - Nokia Maps - Download Just download it, hook your phone to the PC in Data Storage Mode and the Maploader will guide you through everything. It will ask you when you begin if you want to delete existing maps from the storage device and you click 'yes'. This way you will get the latest maps for your area. Try to go to select > Map options > categories >
then check "airport"' See if that works. And yes. Upload the whole US map onto your phone first. I think it will take more than 100Mb but worth it.

As far as i recall, the entire U.S. maps are over 1.3gb.
Better get a decent sized memory card |
