N95 Lock Code

Hi there,

Does anyone know how a Nokia Service Centre would go about either re-flashing or removing the lock code on an N95?

I've forgotten the Lock code, used to unlock the phone on startup. I've read all manner of secret numbers to type into the phone, key presses to use while switching on etc but none work. I did attempt to use the NSU to update the firmware and try that way but the phone doesn't connect via USB unless I set the option to.

I went into Carphone Warehouse who will do it for £45. To me that's a bit much, I'm sure there is just a special cable I need or something software/simple hardware trickery I need to do the same thing myself, probably a lot cheaper.

Anyone have any ideas?

Just to point out, this is not a code to unlock the phone to all networks and it is very much my phone and not stolen!

You won't be able to....I would just take it to a NSC and see if they can sort it out for you. Take a proof of purchase with you if you can also.

So I'll just have to suck it up and pay the £45?

Bummer, initially I thought they may do it for free, at least once for free, assuming it would be a simple reflash for them.

Turns out my closest store is a complete rip off and made up their own price, every other Carphone Warehouse charges £10, so I'm happy with that!

hi guys im new to this but have a problem with a n95 my daughter changed her lock code to a new one and yep she forgot it the phone is on contract and is genuine (not stolen)i have all the details etc is there a way to reset her lock code or do i need to send it back to nokia they say it will take about 3 weeks if i send it back i tried the 3 button thing and tried connecting phone to comp to update software but it doesnt find the phone as its not started correctly nokia logo goes off then it says lock code the phone was made in finland if that helps thanks for any help

Try NSU or nokia software updater in the search function here or just connect your phone to PC Suite and run Nokia Software Updater for instant results
