video is grey or non existent. HELP

hello all, my first post and yes i am a newb to the phone and forum! be gentle!

anyway to the point. I am a bit of a movie buff and bought the 8gb so i could put some favs on the phone and take them with me.

two problems however.

1. when i restart from the last position the vdeo is often very grey and often chunky.

2. after a while the picture itself stops altogether - wlthough the sound carries on fine.

i have encrypted the videos using the nokia software - video manager? - at the highest quality level from previously generated ipod MP4 videos.

any help or advice gratefully recieved. thanks

J

Welcome to the forums.

Check my signature below please, then we can carry on from there. :)

EDIT - Nokia video manager is not the best as converting films to be honest, its a miss or hit affair, some members reporting good result, some bad, personally I have had good, and bad results, so resorted to PS3 Videora, which is great, and there is a guide within the forums too, which helps set it up specifically for your N95.

Be sure to checkout the TIPS tab at the top of the page, and also take a look at the thread titled, "A Must for New members"

Yes, I can see it my friend. Just a final check, is the word "MEGAPIXEL" that is printed around the camera on the back of your N95-2 in capitals, or lower case.? If lower case, is the number "5" right next to the letter "M"? Or is there a space between the two.?

Just trying to confirm you have a genuine model thats all, there are so many clones about, its best to get this out the way, otherwise we would be 2 or 3 pages in, and still not getting anywhere with your problem your having.

Excellent. Have you tried upgrading your firmware, as i see your not using the latest. This may cure your problem, however, a hard rest as dayene suggests may also help, but make sure you back up anything you wish to keep, and restore later.

Check out the TIPS tab, page two regarding upgrading your firmware, and be sure to search the forums for any further help, and if you cant find anything specific, start a new thread, and someone will be along to help :)
