Problem Texting, & the No-9 Button...!!

If I start a text message, & have to press the No-9 button for either w,x,y,z, or the No-9, it automatically cancels my text message. Same if I want to put a new contact in my phonebook, if the No-9 is in the number, it does exactly the same, cancels whatever I've pressed.

Also after I've finished a call, the No-9 is on my screen, as if I've just pressed the No-9 button???

Got me baffled,

Anyone got a answer please,

Cheers,

Korky.

Had the phone just over a year now, out of guarantee. about a month ago I had it to a Nokia Shop, they wiped it clean & installed the latest firmware that Orange recommends.

This has just started on Monday, that night my phone went into Offline mod for some reason, phoned orange & after a few minutes the Sim was the fault, got a new one, back to normal, till today.

Anyone???

If I reboot everything is OK for a time, then the 9 button just cancels everything I've typed, ie; text message, or a number I was going to dial. When I press the 9 button it flashes on the screen momentarily???

Reboot as in turning on and off ?

Might be time for a hard reset and see if that helps ?

Sounds like a possible stuck number 9 key.

Yes...as in turning the power off, then on, reboot. OK for a while, then back to the No 9 button canceling everything on screen,

Thanks for the replies,

If you don't mind trying a hard reset, however you will lose everything on the phone, but this method will return it back to factory default.

Press and hold the following keys, whilst holding down the power button until the date is presented.

*, 3, and Green call button

GSI-R thanks for the reply, I see where your coming from, but I'll leave that as a last resort. Thought there might have being a quick fix somewhere, but looks like not many have had the same problem,

Cheers,

Korky.
