I cannot see the photos I take in the Gallery! Help Please!

Hello everyone! I'm new here and I have an issue which has been bothering me for the past month... Every time I take a photo with my N95 8GB itll work fine but the problem is that I cant see the photos in the gallery. All it says is (no images or videos). I have to go all the way to the file manager to see them. Ive typed the *#0000# thingy and this comes up:

V 11.0.026
01-11-07
RM-320
Nokia N95 (93.03)

Is there something wrong with my phone?

Thanks!

to the forum and thanks for providing your full phone information, can you please update your profile with it, like so: http://www.n95users.com/forum/site-n...tml#post123764

You are two firmware versions behind from the current V 20 available for your model, an update is strongly recommended, read the guide in the Tips section and hopefully you shouldn't have a problem.

Although an update might cure the issue, let's try to tackle it anyway. Where does file manager find the photos ? Did you set up to save photos in Phone or in Mass memory ?

Well the file manager finds the photos in the Mass Memory in Images and ive set it up to save in Mass Memory. Im not sure exactly when this started to happen but it was a good month or so. And as for the firmware model ive read that you cant revert back to the old firmware model so will it make my phone worse if i update?

Also, have you been changing settings and permissions to create a hidden folder as per some of the tutorials around the net? If so, you may have inadvertently set the attributes for your default image folder as Hidden, which would mean that none of the images would show up in your gallery.

One thing I'm interested in, have you taken any videos with the phone? Can you see those in the gallery?

No, an update will only make your phone better and in your case much better. Based on your replies, it would probably solve your problem too.

I dont think ive created any hidden folders or changed settings. How would I verify that i changed any settings? Also I just took a short video and it still doesnt appear in the gallery. Before ive tried to manually transfer some images from the Mass Memory to the Phone Memory and they appear but i dont know why it wont show the Mass Memory images.

If you'd created any hidden folders you would know about it.

Try changing the options and see if you can see them when they're saved to the phone. If so, I strongly suggest you back up everything on your phone and card, wipe the card and update the phone. Starting fresh usually fixes most problems.

Ive just changed the options to save the images to the phone and i can see the image i took!
Sadly i want it to save to the Mass Memory because of the amount of pictures it can store. Will the firmware upgrade delete ALL my music because i have over 700 songs?... I dont mind it deleting my contacts etc but I wouldnt want it wiping out my music.

Updating the firmware will erase everything on your phone, not card.

I suggest wiping the card to clear out any applications which may try to install onto your phone when you first boot up. Formatting your card is optional, and I'm guessing your music is on your card so if you do take this option too, make sure you back up all of your images, videos and music from your card.
