N95 and texting issue :(

I just got an N95 from a friend but its foreign - Ive tried all this NSU firmwire stuff with no avail. Basically all I want to do is make it so the down key is to change between the spelling of a word and not the * key! i know it sounds dumb but I have used nokia's for about 7 or 8 years and just cannot get used to this phone!

Any ideas as to how to change it?

my old phone used to do that, trust me, you will get used to it. i think you'll find its worth it :)

Motorola's do this. I'd rather hit the * key than have to press down on the keypad to change the word.
