Question Broken Button(s) and other issues

Hello.
I'm Luke. Just came across this forum by fluke. Thankfully i did. Anyway i need help in regards to my Nokia N95. It's on 02UK network, 18 month contract and i have about 5-6 months left on the contract.

The following is the MAIN problem with my phone:

1.) The left blue key, above the green one no longer works. This is absolutely critical as it's the button for 'option's and the button that you use to send texts with. Also it's the only button as far as i know that i cannot actually change/modify in the settings. For some reason it's stopped working completly - what do i do?

Water has made contact with my phone however, it's never gone anywhere near the buttons, only on my screen. Does anyone know what could be causing this button to no longer function, and if so how do i go about rectifying it?

2.) On another note as i'm a year into my contract would it be possible to cancel the contract with 02?

3.) Other problems with my phone (which are apparently quite common) include:

* Very low battery life - and this is WITHOUT excessive use of applications, making calls etc, etc. I have to now charge the phone 2-3 times per DAY. Which is ridiculous. *

* The phone turns itself off from time to time - any reason why this happens?

Sorry for the excessively long post guys, but any help would be MASSIVELY appreciated as i'm on contract i don't fancy forking out £30 per month for a phone that i can't use 100% properly!

A good start would be to update your pofile with the phone model and firmware version, you can find that out by keying *#0000#.

Your button problem is most likely water damage, which is bad news. There is a chance it might be a software issue, but we'll look at it after you provide your phone information.

Batteries do not have infinite life and yours could simply be nearing its end - or again it could be software, since the latest versions have considerably improved the battery life.

Random turning off could again be old software or something very simple, like for example loose battery contacts.

Okie dokies i've updated the details regarding my phone and the firmware version...

The button problem may well be as a result of possible water damage. If this is the case is there anyway i could fix this without visiting my local Nokia care point?

about the broken button
you can replace it with another button like the gallery button (which many people replace)
you can change the button layout using the magickey program
How to Kill The Gallery Button
there it shows about it

I don't think i can do that.
As when you install applications you need to 'ok' it which i won't be able to do
As the far left button (above the green one) is broken.
Hence why i can't send texts, ok any applications or pretty much do anything on my
phone i would normally do.

Oh well, was worth a try. If you had one, you could of used it to navigate through the menus without the need to pressing the buttons on the phone.

If water has gotten into the phones circuit which the buttons work from, there maybe some corrosion there, which is causing the fault.

Okie dokies. Is there a way to fix this manually, or am i going to have to take this to my local Nokia care point and get them to fix it, would that take mega long to sort out?

Thanks btw.
