ok the first couple questions to help narrow this down. Does it try to charge if you wiggle the charger around? Have you tried a different charger to narrow down if the phone is broken and not the charger itself? Have you checked if it's still under warranty?
I cannot confirm nor deny anything I say or type to be truthful in any way.

As said, it maybe under warranty. Best make sure that the port is indeed broken physically first.
If so, take it to a Nokia Service centre, and get it fixed for free.
If its out of warranty, its not too difficult to fix yourself.
First you will need a replacement port. Below are some available from reliable sources..
Search - Accessory Link LTD UK
First of all, you will need to remove your battery.
Then remove the back casing. (Video guide available within these forums)
Remove the numbered keypad as per video.
Remove the two Torx 6 T6 screws which are under the keypad.
Gently extract the lower panel, (This has the microphone, GPS antenna, and small circuit, so be cafeul, pull it out square.
Now, turn the phone over so that the screen is face down on a cloth.
Remove the top two T6 screws, which hold the top panel with on/off button. Once screws are removed, lift out panel.
Now, unscrew, and remove the central T6 screws, whilst still keeping the phone face down onto cloth.
Once these screws are removed, you will be able to pry open the phone enough to separate the main board from the slider unit.
Carefully holding the phone, you will see the charge port. To remove this, using small tweezers, pull the charge port upwards, away from the board.
Replace with new one.
Then put the phone back together in reverse sequence.

Thanks for reply, the thing is, the vcharger refuse ti go in, I took the phone to o2 just to check if it is my charger the problem and it not going in either. Took it to the phone repair shop in the market, and he look inside and said that the port is broken, will cost ten pounds to fix it. but I was sure if I could trust is assessment, so I decide to get advice on this forum.
I brought this phone buy in box on ebay about 8 mths, so not sure about warranty.
How can I located a nokia centre. I in uk buckinghamshire.
Thanks
I am not confident to take the phone apart.
thanks
Ok, it should still be covered by the European 24 months standard warranty.
Check the link below to see if you still have warranty.

Thanks for your email. You don't need a receipt due to the warranty being based on the IMEI number. Call up the Repair Center that you have found nearest, and explain about your purchase.

Thanks much, will tell u the outcome
depending on where in bucks - i know my closest service centre is by langley train station..
had a BAD experience with them so maybe wouldnt recommend them though
I contacted nokia service centre, they said if its my fault that the port has broken then I would have to pay for the repair- £20. How can they tell if it mine fault or not? Maybe its mine, where I accidentially rest on it while charging at the top of my bed. The thing is I know another place (not nokis centre)that is half that cost to fix it. If they fix it would it void my warranty if anything else happen to the phone. I just making sure I make the right decesion, I love this phone.
Personally, I would pay the £20, and get Nokia to fix it.

I'd save the 10 and have it fixed at the cheap place of Do it myself.
get it done at the £10 place, its exactly the same thing ull be paying twice as much for at nokia
in terms of them knowing/assuming you have done it yourself they may be looking for signs of it being dropped... scratches/cracks or anything.. if it looks like you havent dropped it or anything then they may struggle to blame you for it...
the people that charge you 10 quid will probably do just as good a job, and maybe even do it quicker
** as an aside for us 'techies' - imagine they had an accelerometer log to see if the gforce exceeded that of a drop, then they could find out if we dropped it or not... evil but clever if they did
Nokia will differently charge me to fix the charger port because 3 months back my phone drop and chipped.Glad to know others think they would pay the cheaper price especially since I can wait and get it back same day. Will get it fix by friday then.
Thanks guys.
Let us know how you get on please.

yep, market stall indeed, was a bid worry that they would change or demage something. When I pick it up he even gave me the demage bit. but still I took my phone to o2 store near by just to compare that everything is still the same. I am too careful, I know. I brought a battery from him also, only £6, a bargin!!! Not orginal nokia but it work perfect nevertheless. Thanks again.
PS. Even though I have this phone for about 8mths now, I have not utilisize a lot of those software and function that i hear the phone is capable of. What would u recommend?
