My phone won't send MIDI files

I have an unlocked, unbranded N95-3 and when I create a MMS moessage and try to attach a midi file I have in my library, my phone immediately says 'cannot send protected file' and won't let me go further. I verified the midi file is not read only, and I have sent this file before with previous phones. Any clues?

Bruce

Google is a wonderful thing.... It seems the N95 won't let you bluetooth, e-mail or MMS any midi file. Its built into the Nokia Firmware phone browser. There are a couple of phone browsers available that will let you send one via bluetooth or e-mail (its called y browser) but I haven't yet discovered a way to send one via MMS.

Right, let me get my head round this; "you can email them via PC" Do you mean that you can attach them from your phone memory and then send them as an attachment? then move from the recipients email onto another phones memory? or is it done a different way?

Speedway.

in file manager remove the .mid file extension by renaming the file in options, you can then send it, that simple, but it took me 3months to discover!
