Keypad Problem I think

Everytime I try and use the keypad random applications keep popping up... and when I write a text it goes off it and you have to click back on messages to get to the text virtually after one or two presses of a button and keeps doing so.
It flashes between random applications... and from the display picture to the menu continuously.
I believe its stuck buttons. I believe this because it tries to unlock itself when im nowhere near the phone.
How can I resolve this? How do you take the keypad off to check for damage?
I have no insurance on it because I couldn't afford the extra 7.50 a month.
Anyone have any suggestions. I'd rather not send it off for repair in all honesty.
Thanks alot.

Firstly, Welcome to the forums.

What model of N95 do you have ?

You'll need to remove the front of the phone, 4 torx screw on the rear of the slider. With this removed the keypad can then be removed.

Before you take your N95 apart my friend, even though you didn't take any additional insurance, being in the UK, your N95 should be covered by its 24 month Warranty.

Have you ever got the phone wet at all?

Oh, and welcome to the forums.!

Give them a call to see what they have to say, otherwise, find your local Nokia Care Point in the link below..

Are you 100% sure it's a front keypad issue, and not a firmware issue. If it goes haywire, it can lead to all screens and functions going crazy.

As by the title of the thread "Keypad Problem I think" means Im not sure.
But the thing is it tries to unlock itself? could that be an affect of the thing you suggested? thanks alot for the suggestion that it could be something else. Any further advice?
Thank you.
Ted.

I would have a play with the keypad, and try taking it off if you can. Other wise take it to a Nokia Service centre, if they say there is nothing wrong with the keypad. Ask them to re-install the firmware for you, as that may be the issue.
