Try closing down any open windows applications, it could be creating a software conflict.

Similar thing happened to me and after deleting, downloading, repairing for a morning I checked out the Device Manager - for some reason under "Portable Devices" the Nokia N95 8g was set as disabled - I enabled it and it works.

To do this go to:

Control Panel ->

System ->

Device Manager ->

Then go down to "Portable Devices" and check that your phone is there and enable it.

Hope this helps...

^^if the above solution doesn't help, then do one thing- shut down your pc and take out the power plug of pc from the electronic socket and wait for 2-3 minutes and then put it back in socket and start the pc and then try to connect your phone in USB mode. I know it may sound a bit weird but i had the same problem once and it got solved by this method only!

again, if none of the above work. go through add/removes programs and remove all nokia software AND cable drivers and such. then restart and install the latest version of pc suite, restart again and see if it works.

if you fancy it you can always go through the registry and delete all entries to do with nokia too, but id only try that if all else fails

Have had the same problem - tried for a week to fix it, basically I found when I updated PC Suite with the new shiny version it downloads a USB driver that won't recognise the N95. The PC can see the N95 but PC Suite doesn't see it.

Not only that if you roll back to the previous version that used to work the drivers remain the same and that won't work either.

Gave up after two TOTALLY useless calls to Nokia the highlight was "I can't help you, I'm going home now."

Installed a £6.00 bluetooth dongle and re-installed the original software that came with the phone and now it works perfectly - still won't work with the new PC suite but the old version works fine.
