GPS problem
Hey all, I pulled apart my N95 a few weeks ago to change the cover, and the screen backlight + gps died, I sent it in to my local shop to get it fixed, they stuck a new screen in it and said they fixed the GPS, and that it "tests fine" - however i cannot get a GPS signal lock anymore! It only shows the last location i was at. If it tests fine, shouldnt the software be able to use it properly? Or do i need to reinstall the maps software or something? Im kinda stuck here..
Thanks for any help! EDIT: Sorry, i should add more info: I did a factory reset, that didnt do much, reinstalled maps onto my memory card, that didnt do anything, it just flashes a yellow bar in the gps signal meter, and thats it.. Last edited by nx01rules; 12-23-2008 at 04:29 AM. |

do you know if the GPS circuit (located in the bottom cover) has been damaged?
i only ask because i replaced my N95 housing including the number keypad and ended up damaging the GPS circuit. i bought a new bottom cover (incl. GPS circuit and mic) and, voila, worked like a charm. i found all the info i needed via one of our good friends Micky here in the forum:

when you changed the cover did the new casing come with a new bottom cover ?
I ask because sometimes the fake cover do not have a working gps antenna and so you would need to switch back to the old part |
