Vodafone - Inactive SIM/SIM Registration Failed

Ive been using this Vodafone SIM Card since 2-3 years, then i lost my phone in the house. I found it yesterday while clearing some stock. Now the phone is totally dead, so i took out the SIM and tried it on several phones.

My Sony Ericsson W800 says Inactive SIM
Nokia 5530 - SIM Registration Failed

What can i do? Ive been using the SIM for years and i still remember that i had credit on it. I want to keep that number as well.

Most networks require you to make a chargeable call / send a text once every 60-90 days to keep the sim card activated. Failing to do that means the sim is deactivated, number lost & credit gone!

Ring Vodafone and see if it's a sim issue or what I said above.

As suggested, your best bet would be to contact Vodafone, and request they send you a new sim card, which they can do, so you can keep the same phone number.
