Installed 3rd party software, contacts are now screwed...

So, I got a call from a buddy the other day, and noticed it only showed his last name. I got a call a bit later, again- only last name and number is displayed- no first name.

Seems I installed a program that decided to screw with the contact naming. Apparently anything with two words in the Name field has been truncated. Anything appearing after a space is gone. Anyone have any experience with this issue? Are the changes permanent?

I think, THINK, it was emoze that did it. It's well known that I install far too many of the S60 applications out there on my N95... so I can't be sure that it was this, but it does do things to the device, like messaging- and I've got a crapload of contacts that seem to have come from my Gmail account.

Why in the hell would a program do this without any sort of prompting? Anyone else with Emoze out there that has noticed anything similar?

did you try syncing it back again with outlook? same thing?

I use emoze and have never seen that....although I dont use it to sync contacts, only email.

I don't sync my contacts in outlook.



Infact, it's been some time since I've sync'd my contacts. I've got some backups somewhere- it's time to dig them up. I was kinda just wondering what happened, and why.
