HELP! on bloody holiday and the camera is broke
gone away on holiday expecting to use phone as camera for trip. worked fine for a few days but now the camera wont load up, instead have grey screen and the camera icons on the right. desperately want to use as a camera but alas no luck. tried taking battery out, reset code and format code but still no luck. any help would be greatly appreciated!

try reinstalling its firmware.

Do a hard reset *#7370* (backup the internal memory data first).
If that doesnt work, the camera ccd may have come loose. Does the front camera work?

thanks for replying guys, appreciate it. unfortunately tried both but no luck. wont let me update to v12 as on o2, but going through Simply Symbian » Blog Archive » How to: Upgrade your Nokia N95 firmware to try and change that. cant imagine why it could be hardware failure as only had the ****ed thing for 2 months, but will have to look into it. have it insured so might have to get a replacement but fustrating as only back in uk for a day after this trip before i head off again, hence looking for alternate solution. any other ideas would be most welcome!

forgot to mention, the front camera does work. all I see when i access the main camera however is the background (not the camera) and the icons on the right, however these are duplicated where they 'slide' in from the right, not dissimilar to a corrupt windows window... if that makes any sense...

Hmm sounds like the RAM has bad bits or another chip is playing up.
If a hard reset doesnt fix it, there's not much you can do. I would take it to a Nokia Service Center and get it fixed under warranty.

Cheers, contacted o2 today to try and resolve it, paying 7.99 gbp a month for insurance and now the
 's are telling me that I have to wait a refurbished phone which will take a week. Useless as going away again in less than that. Thanks for confirming what i suspected, **** phone. will have to try and get a n95 8gb off them!
