Alarm working/not working when phone off (Merged 3 Threads)

I use my phone as a alarm clock (having multiple alarms is a god send), however as the phone takes up a lot of juice i would rather have the phone off during the night to save it
does anyone know of a way that you can schedule a alarm to turn on the phone, or if this happens automatically?
Cheers
WN

As the previous poster said the alarms will turn the phone on - I also do this every morning.

Well, that settles that.

Also note that 3rd party 'alarm' programs are unable to switch the phone on from an off state when you have set an alarm.

AFAIK, you must use the built in alarm to be able to wake the phone up. If anyone knows of any other 3rd party software that can wake the phone up, then please post it up here.

Yes, it has to be the built in alarm. My other Nokia used to do this function too. 6280.

New firmware (v20) - no alarm.

Does anybody else experiencing the issue, that after upgrading to the new n95 firmware, the phone does not turn on automatically when the alarm clock should alarm. The screen turns on, but then nothing happens :( It seems as the alarm clock application just froze. (I am speaking about the in-built alarm clock application of course)

Mines flashed to v20 and the alarm works ok when the phone is off.

Check the clock and alarm times, perhaps you set it to pm instead of am, or its set to the wrong Day

Thanx for the advise. However as mentioned it tries to go on, but does not succeed :(
Screen goes on at the time the alarm is set, but afterwards nothing happens.
Then when I turn on the phone (independently when) if there is a "pending" alarm it immediately goes on.
