Text messaging
I don't know if this problem has been posted before, so forgive me if it has. Here's the scenario, I can receive regular text messages, I can send multi-media messages, but every time I try to send a regular text message, it sends it right to the outbox and says it will resend in two more minutes. If I click on resend in the outbox several times, it finally says "unable to send to ...." and says "failed". If I click on details it reads "General: Memory full. Close some applications and try again. I have nothing open and memory reports 17 megs used
Called AT&T customer support and all they were able to do was change the Cingular brand over to the AT&T brand. Went to an AT&T store and the the rep cancelled my textingplan and then re-activated it, AND put in a new sim card. After that, it worked, but I'm not sure which action solved the problem. 6 hours later, I'm back to the same problem. I've had the phone for 4 months with no problems, upgraded to software ver. 12 months ago, again with no problems, has never been dropped or gotten wet. I am on AT&T family plan, with unlimited texting and media usage. Anyone have any ideas? Thanx in advance. Bob

Try downloading and install 'Y-Tasks'. this will help you to find where the mysterious memory loss is coming from.
I'd also go into the setup wizard to make sure messaging settings are correct. |

my telco said my sim card was damaged and wanted to charge me to replace my simcard.. had a huge argument with them.. i never removed my simcard from my phone.. how could it be damaged.. finally they replaced my simcard FOC after consulting maxis (my telco) customer service.. after replacing the new simcard, i could send text messages again.. |

Memory seems fine using y-tasks.
Brand new sim card. Settings are as they should be.

I have the exact same problem. I'm with O2, I gave them a call and they got me to check the settings etc and they all matched up, was asked if I could put my SIM card into another N95 also on the O2 network and send a text, luckly I could when I was on the call. Turned out I could send texts on the other phone apparently ruling out the SIM card. They agreed to send a new phone 3-5 days.
************************************************** **** Up date on this - I reloaded the firmware and it's fixed this problem for now, just remember to back up before you do this or you'll lose everything. Last edited by moloch; 10-28-2007 at 08:05 PM. Reason: Update |
