Nokia Service turnaround time
Today my screen on the N95 crapped out on me. It was acting funny (distorted bands across the screen), and then I rebooted after which the screen was totally dead (blank, lights present). Checked tv-out works find, did backups and all types of resets, and reflashed the firmware to no avail.
Talked to Nokia, who said its covered under warranty, so at this point I need to know what other users experience has been with nokia service centers. In my case it will be sent to a domestic service center here in the U.S. I have looked at some other threads and heard about horror stories regarding how long the phone had been away but those threads were from a long time ago, im hoping now that there are official U.S versions, the domestic service centers will have all that they need in-house to perform the repairs. So does anyone have any experience with NSC turn-around time? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks. |

i had a bad experience with 6 weeks to get my replacement phone.

do you think that your case could be different since it had to be replaced? Also how long ago was it?
I just sent mine in today, should arrive at the NSC (in alabama?? of all places) on friday. Ill be sure to post updates to let people know of my experience. |

it was 5 months ago i think. 2 weeks i waited then they said call the week after... then they tell me my bluetooth couldn't be fixed so they're going to send me a replacement... and they can't tell me when. so i kept calling every week until i called the executive department. it was just a horrible service for me.

so far so good, I shipped it to them on Wednesday, I wonder how long they will wait for parts.

UPDATE: online status check shows no difference. still "awaiting parts"
today is the 20th, N.S.C got my phone on the 9th. stated turnaround time is "typically 6-7 days" Since it has been more than 10 days, customer service (not the techs) said they will put an expedite on the order, and also mentioned the possibility of a rule about more than 20 days, after which they will opt for replacement over repair. exactly the same process i went through... then i kept calling every week for an update because there was no change in the status when i check online.

Thankfully it appears as if I wont be needing a copy of the complaint letter, online check says that they have hsipped the phone out, and the package tracking says that it has arrived at my house (im in Cali, so I cant check for sure).
Repair History: Status Date Status 11/20/2007 Shipped Repaired Original Phone 11/20/2007 11/09/2007 Awaiting Parts 11/09/2007 Received 11/06/2007 Pending Receipt by the Repair Center I will let you guys know abut the actual state of affairs when I get back home on monday. |
